The Fender American Special line of guitars includes Fender American Special Telecaster, the American Special Stratocaster, and the American Special HSS. All of these superior instruments come with 22 fret maple necks with jumbo frets, 9.5” radius, satin finishes and 70’s styled headstocks. The American Special HSS comes with a rosewood neck rather than a maple, adding to tonal characteristics inherent in this versatile Stratocaster. All of the American Special guitars come with Texas Special pickups, the most popular pickups available through the Fender Custom Shop. These alnico 5 pickups provide a true sparkle, richness, mid range, and grittiness that only the Fender Custom Shop can deliver. Not only are these perfect for blues, but rock and country players can also get some phenomenal tones from this extraordinary pickups. The American Special HSS has a Fender Atomic Humbucker in the bridge, a hot humbucker that delivers stunning crunch and sustain, singing leads, and a mid range bark and growl necessary for such a versatile instrument. The American Special Telecaster also has high mass “brass bar” bridge saddles providing a traditional Telecaster spank and twang that both traditional and modern Tele players demand. Add a string-through body design for the American Special Telecaster, and you have exceptional USA Tele tone all for under $800. All Fender American Special instruments come equipped with the patented Fender Greasebucket tone circuit, which rolls off the highs without adding bass. This means when you back off the tone, the inherent clarity of the Texas Special Pickups remains, without being muffled or stifled. The Fender American Special Stratocaster is available in Candy Apple Red or Two-Tone Sunburst.
